One of the hardest parts about teaching is not always being able to see the fruits of our labor. The time and love each of you pours into this profession and ultimately our students is unmatched. And the growth we are striving for is not always obvious or apparent. But I assure you; I guarantee you; I know with every fiber of my being that you are in fact making a difference.
"Just" is the worst word we use to describe ourselves. I'm "just" one person. I'm "just" a teacher. I'm "just" an educational assistant.
It only takes ONE to make a difference. It only takes ONE person to change the course for our students. YOU are that ONE person. YOU are changing their lives for the better with each smile, each "hello", each high five, each "you got this", each second chance, and each "I believe in you".
Years from now, whether it be one or ten, at least one of your students will look back on their time in school and think of you. They will reflect on the impact you made, and how you changed their life for the better. And regardless if they search you out to let you know, I'm thanking you now for making a difference.
Thank you for showing up each day! Thank you for giving your best day in and day out! Thank you for never settling! And thank you for loving our students like your own!
